Developing curricula to support smooth transition to effective industry professional practice

Start: 2012
Report Publication Date: N/A
Primary Project Leader Elena Sitnikova

Funding
Amount: $12,000.00 Body: Australian Council of Deans of ICT (ACDICT) Source: ALTA Purpose: Fellowship
Summary
I propose to focus on helping staff to develop curricula, using teaching and learning principles to support students in a smooth transition to effective industry professional practice. This would be flexible, since I would be developing and disseminating discipline-specific and shared activities in consultation with ACDICT and other ALTA fellows. ICT educators need better understanding of the teaching-research-industry-learning nexus in order to enhance their existing programs and courses. This would enable them to apply best practice into designing, implementing and teaching industry-relevant curriculum for the mutual benefit of academia, students and industry
