Tenth Melbourne Computing Education Conventicle MCEC2013

The Conventicle is a one-day conference that aims to support academics who are researching and teaching in the computer science and information technology disciplines, or who are using computer technology in their teaching. It provides an opportunity for sharing of ideas and innovations; for discussion of research directions; and for development of collaborations.

(Although the Conventicle is FREE the registration system requires you to select “pay by credit card” in order to generate a zero balance registration receipt. You are NOT asked to enter any credit card details. Oh – and ignore Attendee type …)
 
With your help we will have an exciting program. Our keynote, Assoc. Prof. Richard Buckland from the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW, is an enthusiastic and entertaining speaker. His talk is titled “Face to face teamwork versus remote electronic collaboration”, however I’m sure he will be weaving many other themes into his presentation.
 
Call for Papers or Presentations
You are invited to submit proposals on any topic of potential interest to the Conventicle’s audience for a(n):
  • open forum or group discussion
  • panel session
  • demonstration of a teaching tool or technique
  • presentation of a recently published or accepted journal or conference paper.
 
All proposals will be considered by the MCEC Organising Committee.
 
To submit a proposal:
  • Email your proposal (including format of presentation) in Word or PDF format and the name and contact details of the person who will be presenting to jo.neilson@deakin.edu.au.
  • If relevant, please provide details of the conference or journal to which your paper was accepted.
  • Submissions should be made by October 18, 2013.
  • Presenters will be notified by October 28, 2013.
